Capcom announced the Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta is making its return just before its February launch. Formally titled “Open Beta Test 2”, the next test period will include everything from the first open beta, plus a few extra goodies to lure in returning hunters.
Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta 2 begins February 6
Back by popular demand, Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta 2 has two test periods. The first begins February 6 at 7 P.M. PT, and ends February 9 at 6:59 P.M. The second period begins on February 13 at 7 P.M. PT, and ends February 16 at 6:59 P.M. Crossplay will be on during both periods, so PS5 players will be able to play with their friends on Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
As mentioned, Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta 2 will include everything from the first beta test. This includes the character creator, story trial, and Doshaguma Hunt. The new test period sees the return of Gypceros in the Gypceros Hunt. There will be other new content, but will be revealed at a later date.
Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta 2 participants will get a couple of goodies for the full release for checking out the game early. The Open Beta Test Bonus Pendant, and the OBT 2 Bonus Item Pack will be available to redeem to all those who play during the new period. It should be noted that players that earned the pendant during the first test period will not get a second pendant. However, players will receive both Bonus Item Packs for participating in both beta tests.
Monster Hunter Wilds releases for PS5 on February 28, 2025 for $69.99. There is a Deluxe Edition, and Premium Deluxe Edition available on the PlayStation Store for $89.99 and $109.99 respectively. All three editions include bonus content for preordering including the Hunter Layered Armor Set : Guild Knight, and Talisman: Hope Charm.
