Xbox exclusive games on PS5

Popular Xbox Shooter Coming to PS5 Alongside Halo – Report

Earlier today, industry insider NateDrake reported Xbox console exclusive Halo: The Master Chief Collection will come to PS5 in 2025. It seems another popular Xbox shooter is set to arrive on Sony’s gaming platform later this year as well.

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition reportedly coming to PS5 this year

According to Windows Central’s Jez Corden, another trio of Xbox console exclusives are coming to PS5. Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, Age of Mythology, and Gears of War: Ultimate Edition may potentially release for PS5 in 2025.

NateDrake claimed Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 were coming to PS5 this year as well. Additionally, he suggested Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Rebirth would come to Xbox in 2025 and 2026 respectively. According to Corden, Microsoft may hit a sales milestone this year.

“If all of this is true — and always take rumors with a pinch of salt, as plans can change — Microsoft will probably make more money from content this year than it ever has,” Corden said. “Microsoft has a vast mountain of first-party content in development, with further unannounced titles for 2025 slated for the Xbox Showcase which typically airs in June.”

“For most games, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch versions will either be ready to go on launch day or some months after the fact,” Corden continued. “The studios building these games will enjoy the sorts of income and investment that will help them get to the next level.”

Rumors of Gears of War coming to PlayStation have been swirling since early last year.

The first Gears of War launched for Xbox 360 in 2006. Many consider it one of Xbox’s tentpole franchises. Its Ultimate Edition released in 2015, and is a remastered version that improves the original’s visuals.

It is not a surprise Xbox is bringing its games to PS5. Games like Pentiment and Sea of Thieves are already available on Sony’s platform, with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle coming later this year. What makes Gears and Halo’s jump to PlayStation a bit more unique is their legacy with the Xbox brand. However, like all rumors, take this with a grain of salt. We’ll know more once these ports are formally revealed.
