When S-Game revealed Phantom Blade Zero during the 2023 PlayStation Showcase, it impressed with its stylish action combat and intriguing world. Now that people have gotten their hands on it, it seems to be one of the more anticipated titles coming to PS5. Luckily for those looking forward to the upcoming game, the developer announced the next trailer is coming very soon.
PS5 game Phantom Blade Zero trailer revealed next week
On the official Phantom Blade Zero X (formerly Twitter) account announced the next trailer will be revealed January 21, 2025, at 8 P.M. PST. The trailer is titled “Year of the Snake” as it celebrates the 2025 Chinese New Year.
“Witness an intense, unedited Boss Fight gameplay video that showcases our bold innovations and deep dive into crafting the ultimate melee combat experience,” reads the X post.
Phantom Blade Zero is developed by Chinese game development studio S-Game. Most of the studio’s previous projects were for mobile, and didn’t release outside of China. The upcoming release is the “spiritual rebirth” of Soulframe’s Rainblood: Town of Death, which eventually became the Phantom Blade franchise. The studio describes its setting as “kungfupunk”, which combines Chinese kung fu, steampunk, arts of the occult, and other “intriguing stuff”.
“In Phantom Blade Zero, you’re Soul, an elite assassin serving an elusive but powerful organization known simply as ‘The Order’. He was framed for the murder of The Order’s patriarch and gravely injured in the manhunt that ensued. A mystic healer managed to save him from death, but makeshift cure only lasts for 66 days. He must find out the mastermind behind it all before his time runs out, against powerful foes and inhuman monstrosities.”
A release date has yet to be revealed for Phantom Blade Zero. When it does inevitably launch, it will come to PS5.
