A reliable insider has teased that the next PlayStation State of Play event will be sometime in February 2025. The insider is none other than NateTheHate, who most recently accurately leaked the Nintendo Switch 2 announcement that has taken social media by storm today. Naturally, people want to know what other secrets the insider is holding on to, and apparently, one of them is the next PlayStation event.
A PlayStation State of Play in February 2025 makes sense
In response to a follower who asked about the next State of Play, NatetheHate tweeted:
Although NatetheHate’s track record with leaks is pretty good, we advise our readers to take this with a grain of salt.
That said, a February event does make sense. Sony has a few games lined up for this year that it needs to drum up interest for, starting with Ghost of Yotei. The company has already begun highlighting the game in its company adverts, one of which we saw this week.
While we don’t expect bombshells at State of Play events, Sony might want to announce a smaller first-party game or highlight third-party games coming to PS5 this year, like it usually does. March seems too late to kickstart any marketing campaigns, and with January ruled out, a February State of Play sounds plausible.
