PS Store discount offer

Legendary Shooter Is Under $4 on PS Store

PlayStation players looking to pick up a bunch of good games for low prices are in luck. The New Year Deals promotion on PS Store allows PS5 and PS4 owners to save up to 80% on some of the best video games the platforms have to offer. This includes one of the most influential first person shooters of all time.

Original Doom bundle is currently 60% off on the PS Store

The Doom + Doom 2 bundle is currently 60% off its usual $9.99 price tag. This means players can grab this duo of beloved shooters for just $3.99. Even though both these games are over 30 years old, they are absolutely worth checking out — especially with all the added content included in this bundle. However, anyone interested will have to act fast as the offer ends on January 30.

“Developed by id Software, and originally released in 1993, DOOM pioneered and popularized the first-person shooter, setting a standard for all FPS games,” reads the official description. “The critically acclaimed sequel, DOOM II, followed in 1994. Now the definitive, newly enhanced versions of DOOM + DOOM II are available as a combined product.”

Here is everything the Doom + Doom 2 bundle includes:

  • Doom
  • Doom 2
  • TNT: Evilution
  • The Plutonia Experiment
  • Master Levels for Doom 2
  • Sigil
  • Legacy of Rust
  • A new Deathmatch map pack featuring 26 maps

This bundle includes just about anything players need to experience Doom before Doom 64. Beyond the two main entries, Final Doom is included here via TNT: Evilution, and The Plutonia Experiment, the two standalone episodes that made up that project. It also features several known WADs like Sigil, an unofficial fifth episode for Doom made in 2019 by original co-creator John Romero. It features a soundtrack by James Paddock, and Buckethead.

Legacy of Rust is also a new bit of content for the original Doom games. Created in collaboration by id Software, Nightdive Studios, and Machine Games, it is the first official episode since Doom 2 to feature new demons and weapons.

With Doom: The Dark Ages coming to PS5 in May, it may be a perfect time to check out the original games. Especially since the new entry’s combat is heavily inspired by the strafing of the 1993 shooter.
