PS Plus members have two more weeks to snag some free PS Stars points before some unpopular changes to the program go into effect. We say “free” because PS Plus members renew their subscriptions irrespective of PS Stars, but it was certainly nice to be rewarded for it. That all changes on March 1, 2025, as announced late last year.
No more PS Stars points for subscriptions after March 1
Those whose subscriptions are running out soon, and have plans to renew them, should try to do so by February 28. Come March 1, Sony will cease awarding PS Stars points for all types of subscriptions including PS Plus.
PS Plus is one of the most popular way to earn points, which are otherwise hard to rack up for any meaningful rewards beyond some digital collectibles that currently serve no purpose. Unfortunately, Sony caught on quickly and decided to nuke the method altogether.
As a reminder, points also have an expiry date now, so you have one year (from the day points are unlocked) to spend the little coin you do gather. Essentially, PS Stars will soon only be geared towards those who buy most of their games digitally via the PS Store.
