Darksiders 2 is Still a Long, Long Ways Off

Darksiders, THQ’s original IP of early 2010, was pretty well received. Not at all the type to turn down a franchising opportunity THQ decided to announce the sequel at E3, but it might not hit that release date after all.

In an official statement given to IGN, THQ announced that Darksiders 2 will be pushed back until the 2013 fiscal year.

“We want to release a key title in each quarter over the next two and a half years. We have moved UFC Undisputed to Q4 of fiscal year 2012. That was the original target for Darksiders 2. Therefore, we decided to move Darksiders 2 to early fiscal year 2013.”

Keep in mind however, that the “fiscal year” is much different than that “calendar year.” The 2013 Fiscal Year actually starts on April 1st of 2012 and going until March 31st of the following year. So while 2013 is in the title, the game has 8 months of 2012 to still release. It will be releasing in the same launch window as THQ’s other new intellectual property, Tomonobu Itagaki’s Devil’s Third.
