Ubisoft assumed a commanding presence at E3 2010 with several blockbuster titles on display which were scheduled for Q4 2010 release dates. With new titles from three major franchises including Assassin’s Creed, Ghost Recon, and Driver, the team at Ubisoft had more than enough firepower to make a big impact on the late-2010 gaming scene. Unfortunately, two major delays have made that plan a thing of the past.
As part of Ubisoft’s half fiscal-year report, the company acknowledged that both Driver: San Francisco and Ghost Recon: Future Soldier have been delayed. Instead of their release window of Q1 2011, both have been pushed into fiscal-year 2012.
Driver: San Francisco and Ghost Recon: Future Soldier previously had holiday season 2010 release dates, but were later delayed due to the competitive environment. Could the movement of LittleBigPlanet 2, SOCOM 4 and several other popular titles to early 2011 be the culprit of this additional delay? Whatever it is, the delay virus is sure spreading quickly.
