Although id Software first revealed Rage more than two years ago at QuakeCon, fans have had very little to draw from in that long time span. For those dying to get their hands on Rage — and judging by feedback there’s plenty of you — to experience the new id Tech 5 engine, the only choices may unfortunately be to head to an upcoming video game convention, or play the full title when it releases.
If you’re planning to try out Rage before buying it this fall season, then start raging. Bethesda’s Pete Hines had this to say in regards to a Rage demo:
“I don’t see a demo for RAGE on the cards, I guess it’s not a zero percent chance, but it’s somewhere down on that end of the spectrum.”
With such a unique setting, Rage is a game that if anything should require a demo. Sure, id Software has enough feathers in its cap to instill some confidence in consumers, but its been six years since we’ve seen a retail title from the company, so there’s no knowing how the game will be presented; given how much technology has progressed over this generation, this rings even more true.
If Rage looks so good that you can’t deny its grasp, then go ahead and pre-order it from Amazon, and it’ll be in your mailbox this September.
