If there’s one outstanding element that the Crysis series is known for, it has to be visuals. The original Crysis is still used as a benchmark for high-performance PCs today, more than three years after release, and the mere implementation of the series onto a console is something thought of as nearly impossible only years ago. If you’re wondering which console version to get Crysis 2 on, some recent news might have swayed you away from the PS3. However, Crytek begs to differ.
Crytek’s Executive Producer Nathan Camarillo has shared his thoughts regarding the differences between the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 version of Crysis 2. He stated in an interview:
I’ve gone on the record saying that if you stick PS3 and 360 side by side I would challenge anyone to find any meaningful difference. I don’t see it at all.
Crysis 2 is a graphics juggernaut, and has even been compared side-by-side with the king of FPS visuals, Killzone 3. Nathan Camarillo’s comment is either an indication that recent reports on other websites are inaccurate, or that Crytek is trying to save face. Hopefully it’s the former, and the facts will become clear once the final release date arrives on March 22nd.
