According to industry figure Kevin Dent, all is not well at THQ, as the company’s situation continues to worsen. According to a new rumor, the publisher will be facing 170 staff layoffs, including its vice president of tech Mark DeLoura.
You may recall that earlier this year, Dent went so far as to say that THQ would be looking for a buyer and canceling its 2014 lineup. This morning, he posted on his Twitter account supposed information about the layoffs:
This is probably going to break in the morning, I have sat on it for a week or so. The culling at THQ was 170+ souls including @markdeloura.
A smart journalist would send THQ’s VP of Tech Mark DeLoura an email and see what the auto reply says.
On top of that, VG247 has allegedly received word that the layoffs will “significantly” hit the publisher’s UK division. As expected, THQ has yet to comment on the matter.
