It’s been a couple of years since we’ve seen a Splinter Cell title from Ubisoft, with the last proper installment launching back in 2010. Jade Raymond and her team in Toronto are currently hard at work on the next Sam Fisher game, and there’s reason to believe we’ll see the fruits of their labor at E3 next week.
According to a post on NeoGAF, the next title in the series will be called Splinter Cell: Blacklist and will be revealed in a big way at this year’s convention in Los Angeles. The game will allegedly take place after the events of Conviction and will launch on the Wii U, PS3 and Xbox 360 in January of next year.
Apparently Sam has also managed to get his hands on some hair dye, as the post indicates that Mr. Fisher is “looking good as always with no grey hair.” Our hero will also be clad in a “full body suit, and his mighty night goggles.” And, as the title implies, the game will center around Sam’s quest to take out a series of foes that are included on his “blacklist.”
Ubisoft has yet to confirm the validity of this report, so we’ll have to treat this as nothing more than rumor for the time being. Ubisoft’s press conference will be held on Monday, so we’ll be sure to have more news for you at that time.
