Seth Killian Joins Sony Santa Monica

One of the former faces of Capcom’s Street Fighter franchise has joined Sony’s Santa Monica Studio.

On the PS Blog, former Street Fighter community manager Seth Killian has announced that he has joined Sony Santa Monica Studio as a lead game designer for the external group at the studio. Killian explained that the external group works with Sony’s outside studios, such as Queasy Games (Sound Shapes), Fun Bits Interactive (Escape Plan), thatgamecompany (flOw, Flower, Journey), and SuperBot Entertainment (PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale).

Killian said the following about PSASBR in his post:

Fighting games are very close to my heart, and as someone that’s spent much of my life with traditional fighters, All-Stars has been a great opportunity to take a step back and rethink fighting fundamentals from the ground up. The entire team was put together from scratch to create this game, and they are loaded with fighting game superstars (including some impressive tournament credentials–I’m not even the first EVO finalist to join the team!) who love great combat just as much as I do.

He also said that PSASBR will be taken on the road and gamers will get a chance to go hands-on with the game, beginning with PlayStation’s first official presence at EVO this weekend. He added that more details will be coming soon.
