Fallout fans have been clamoring for a proper Bethesda-developed followup to the third installment ever since the release of Obsidian’s New Vegas. Well rumor has it that Fallout 4 is currently in the works and will be set in Boston.
According to a report from an anonymous Reddit user, the studio is currently doing a bit of research in Boston, specifically MIT.
The rumors are true, Fallout 4 will take place in Boston. In case you haven’t heard, Bethesda has recently been scoping out and researching Boston. They also have a strong connection to MIT. I may or may not be an MIT employee. But that’s really all I can say for fear of losing my job.
It is worth noting that The Commonwealth – Fallout’s version of Massachusetts – has played a significant role in the overarching story that drives the franchise. Fans of Fallout 3 will likely recall an encounter with Dr. Zimmer, a scientist from The Commonwealth who speaks about The Institue, which is likely Bethesda’s take on MIT.
