Nihilistic: Black Ops: Declassified is All About the Multiplayer

Developer Nihilistic has spoken out to make it clear that their upcoming title Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified is centered around the multiplayer. As such, it’s safe to assume that the single-player campaign won’t offer anything all too special.

Speaking on One of Swords (a blog by Activision’s Dan Amrich), studio CEO Robert Huebner explained:

Declassified is not about the big campaign storyline and huge cinematics, it’s more focused on the multiplayer essence of Call of Duty and bringing that to a portable device as completely as possible, and in bringing short, objective-based missions and score-driven gameplay with lighter story elements to create what we call the Operations missions.

Then adding in some bonus modes like Time Trials and Hostiles to make a product that delivers the core Call of Duty experience in a mobile package.

Nihilistic Software is the same team behind Resistance: Burning Skieswhich received very mixed reviews. As such, there’s no doubt that there are plenty of reasons to be wary of this Vita-centric first-person shooter.
