Treyarch was planning on removing the Nuketown 2025 map from the online playlists, relegating it to just Custom Games and upcoming ‘special events’. But this news didn’t sit well with people who pre-ordered the game before launch solely for access to this map, forcing them say not-so-nice things on Twitter, and Treyarch has responded to this outcry by bringing it back.
David Vonderhaar of Treyarch sent out this tweet, which received over 1,500 retweets in under 15 minutes:
You killed the messenger, but I still fight for the users. RT to #bringbackNuketown2025 and we will add to a small maps moshpit.
While this doesn’t mean it will be as widely available as it was during the highly popular Double XP weekend during launch week, at least they’re bringing it back. If you’re wondering why it won’t be in the same playlist as before, David gave this response:
Can’t do it or I would. It would fragment matchmaking really poorly at this stage.
At the end of an interesting day for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, just know that Nuketown 2025 will be coming back soon.
