While Sony and Naughty Dog have remained coy on the subject of a release date for The Last of Us, it looks like Wal-Mart has given us a clearer idea of when we they at least expect next year’s possible GOTY.
Posted in a tweet by @Kai978, he took a picture of a reservation card that Wal-Mart currently has on display for the game:
In big letters in the bottom right, it says ‘*Game Release Date Spring 2013’. The asterisk may point us towards the disclaimer that the release date is subject to change, but this at least shows us that The Last of Us is currently expected in spring by the retailer.
Sony then told IGN: “We haven’t announced any release date. Wal-Mart is speculating.”
With a brand new video unveiling this week at the Spike TV VGA’s (here’s the teaser), there’s a possibility this release window will be mentioned, so stay tuned for any more The Last of Us news as it rolls in.
