Sony Reveals That The PlayStation 4 Will Not Block Used Games

One of the biggest concerns about next-gen was that they would block out used games. While that may remain true for the next Xbox (we don’t know), Sony confirmed in an interview with Eurogamer that the PlayStation 4 will not block used games. You heard that right. You will be able to sell and buy used games without the PS4 stopping you. GameStop execs everywhere are rejoicing and gamers are breathing a sigh of relief.

Eurogamer confirmed this with two sources, one being Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida, and the other anonymous one stating that the patent that was found had nothing to do with the PlayStation 4. It’s a huge relief that we won’t have to deal with not only used games protection, but the slew of complaints that would inevitably follow such a reveal.

Are you relieved that this is finally out in the open? Are you reconsidering putting your application back in at GameStop?  Keep it locked to PlayStation LifeStyle for all of your PS4 news as the announcements pour in preceding its release this Holiday.
