A new PS3 firmware update is live: version 4.40 is available to download right now, and it’s mandatory.
Sony hasn’t announced the update, detailed it in any blog post, or really said anything about it. Presumably, it simply is there to patch an exploit or security hole that may have been used by a hacker (or already has). Should Sony provide any further information, we’ll be sure to update the post.
Are you annoyed by firmware updates that don’t do anything? Or do you believe that Sony should do what they can to stay ahead of hackers? Let us know in the comments below.
