We’re getting dangerously close to the one year mark of the PlayStation Vita getting PlayStation Plus (November 20th in North America, November 21st in Europe), which would be a logical time for Sony to switch out the evergreen PS+ titles of Gravity Rush and Uncharted: Golden Abyss.
When asked if we would be hearing about the games changing anytime soon, EU PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Store Content Manager Chris Howe said, “No news to share at the moment, sorry” and “Uncharted: Golden Abyss and Gravity Rush will be remaining in the service at the moment.”
Though we’ll have to wait to hear more about new evergreen PlayStation Vita PS+ titles, Chris did address the fact that there’s only two new PS3 games being added to the Instant Game Collection next month, something that will be commonplace going forward (at least in Europe):
From this month PlayStation Plus membership users will be given access to two PlayStation 3 titles. The PS Vita monthly updates are remaining the same and members will have access to two new PS Vita titles every month. Good news is that with the impeding launch of PS4, the great news for PS Plus members is that existing membership automatically covers PS4 as well as PS3 and PS Vita, so watch this space!
As for the PS3 evergreen titles, Chris said, “The PS3 evergreen titles were changed in June so they will remain in the service until at least the middle of next year.”
Here’s a few more tidbits for PlayStation Plus in Europe:
- Need for Speed: Most Wanted on PS Vita and Bayonetta on PS3 aren’t “planned anytime soon.”
- Though no games were specified, Howe said, “We also have some cracking titles for your PSP/PS Vita lined up for the future months so don’t fear if these are not your cup of tea.”
- Chris answered the question of whether we might see an F1 title in the IGC by saying, “I would like to say yes but there are a lot of licensing issues around those titles and sports titles in general which makes it difficult to secure them for the IGC.”
- Speaking to the future of PlayStation Plus in Europe, Chris said, “We will always try our best to bring the best games possible to the service. Ultimately we have to work with the publishers on this and get their agreement. I can’t share which games we have coming up at the moment but we have some excellent ones in pipeline so keep checking back here for more updates.”
Also, two of these following games are “planned to come up at some point” to the Instant Game Collection in Europe:
- Corpse Party
- Persona titles (specific one wasn’t detailed)
- Escape Plan
- Guacamelee!
- Sound Shapes
- Super Stardust
