With The Wolf Among Us Episode 1 launching all the way back in mid-October, it’s unusual for Telltale Games to go such a long time without releasing a follow-up episode. This is something they’re well aware of, and after a long wait, the developer has confirmed The Wolf Among Us Episode 2: Smoke and Mirrors is scheduled for release in the first week of February (which would be February 4th in North America/February 5th in Europe).
Of course, there’s still the fact that we’ve waited this long to hear anything about the new episode, which Telltale Games explained on their forums:

Kevin from Telltale here! Funny that this came up today, as we were planning the announcement of Ep 2, but… no time like the present!
Ep 2 should be available the first week of February. We are working hard with all of our partners (Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, Apple) to coordinate everything, but we’re confident enough to announce that here. The episode is looking really good (as is the rest of the season!). We are very concerned about the long delay for this episode, but this is one of those occasions where several things conspired against us (not to mention the additional delays due to the holidays). I won’t dive into the details, but it’s been an unusual and specific set of circumstances and we do not anticipate it happening again as we go forward with the rest of the season.
So there you have it. First week of February!
If you live in North America, The Wolf Among Us Season Pass is on sale this week for $14.99 as part of the 14 for ’14 sale, with PlayStation Plus members getting it for $13.49.
We’ll let you know if there’s any changes to the Smoke and Mirrors release date as February draws nearer.
