PS4 Firmware Update 1.60 Out Today, Adds Pulse Elite Headset Support and More

You no longer have to wonder about the PS4’s Pulse Elite compatibility firmware update as Sony has announced that the new update will go live later tonight in the Western part of the world, with the Eastern part of the world getting it early tomorrow.

Officially, PS4 firmware update 1.60 brings support for the Pulse and Pulse Elite Edition wireless stereo headsets, including the Grand Theft Auto V limited edition headset, giving you “7.1 virtual surround sound and crystal clear voice chat.”

In addition to the Pulse Elite headset support, Chris Owen of PlayStation Europe said 1.60 brings along general stability improvements and the ability to mute the camera, with the latter being a requested feature for some time now.

We’ll do our best to let you know once 1.60 has gone live, but if you happen to notice before we do, please let us know in the comments below or by sending a tweet to @PSLifeStyle.

Are you going to be downloading firmware update 1.60 as soon as it’s out late tonight/early tomorrow? Let everyone know below.
