PS4 Firmware Update 1.60 Out Now, Main Features Detailed

Early this morning, PS4 firmware update 1.60 went live for the PlayStation 4. The update adds Pulse Elite headset support, the ability to mute the camera, and improved DVD playback. Here’s the official notes from Sony regarding the update:

  • Picture quality during DVD playback has been improved.
  • Wireless stereo headsets (CECHYA-0080/CECHYA-0083/CECHYA-0086) are now supported.
  • You can now mute the microphone for the PlayStation Camera.

If you’re getting 1.60 through the internet on your PS4, it should have started automatically if your system was in standby, or it will start the next time you turn on your system. If you’re doing it through your computer and a USB stick, the UK site (the US site hasn’t updated with the details yet) says you’ll need at least 300MB free.

Head over here to download the update through the UK site on your computer, with the North American one right here.
