Update: Just like that, Game Informer has confirmed Batman: Arkham Knight as their April 2014 cover. They didn’t give out much more details about the game other than what you’ll find in the description below (it’s for PS4, Xbox One, and PC in 2014), but they did confirm a new trailer is set to go live shortly. Stay tuned.
Original Story: Just hours before the new game from Rocksteady is expected to be revealed on the new Game Informer cover, UK retailer GAME has posted a listing for Batman: Arkham Knight on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, with a release date of 2014. Considering just how detailed the listing is, we have to believe that this was leaked before the official unveiling (and before pre-orders go live).
In GAME’s product description for Arkham Knight, they detail how this is the finale to the Arkham series, there will be a unique version of the Batmobile, and more:
In the explosive finale to the Arkham series, Batman faces the ultimate threat against the city he is sworn to protect. The Scarecrow returns to unite an impressive roster of super villains, including Penguin, Two-Face and Harley Quinn, to destroy The Dark Knight forever.
Batman: Arkham Knight introduces Rocksteady’s uniquely designed version of the Batmobile, which is drivable for the first time in the franchise. The addition of this legendary vehicle, combined with the acclaimed gameplay of the Batman Arkham series, offers gamers the ultimate and complete Batman experience as they tear through the streets and soar across the skyline of the entirety of Gotham City.
Be The Batman.
When more details about Arkham Knight are revealed, we’ll let you know.
