SingStar and Sony PlayStation recently toured the United States as part of the “Take the Stage Tour” where contestants competed for a slew of prizes including a PS3, and a recording session at PlayStation Music Studios.

Twenty-year-old Shannon Rodriguez from Castro Valley has been announced the winner of the national “Take the Stage Tour” contest. The contest toured twenty-one cities nationwide, including Houston, Minneapolis and Las Vegas with contestants competing and testing their vocal abilities with song choices from SingStar Vol. 2 for the PlayStation®3 and the SingStore®. Shannon impressed the audience at the last stop, Pleasanton, claiming the top spot on the leader boards with her rendition of the Police classic, “Don’t Stand So Close to Me.” By out-singing over 4,300 other contestants from around the country, Shannon wins the ultimate SingStar prize package that includes:
· A recording session at the PlayStation Music Studios
· PLAYSTATION®3 system
· SingStar® Vol.1 and Vol.2
· The SingStar makeover which includes a hairstyle, make-up, new wardrobe, limousine transportation and over-night hotel stay
