Japanese Sales Chart: Freedom Wars Dominates Software, PS Vita Gets a Hefty Raise

As Sony teased, Freedom Wars had a great launch in Japan last week, moving over 188,000 units and taking first place overall. In fact, it was a great week for PlayStation, with five of the top six games all on either PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, or PlayStation Vita, including Watch Dogs on PS4 at over 63,000 and Kamen Rider: Battride War II on PS3 at over 62,000.

Looking at hardware, the Vita got a nice boost of over 10,000 compared to last week, while the PS4, PS3, and PS Vita TV all saw some raises as well. Unfortunately, the PSP fell yet again and sold under 1,500 units.

Here’s how each system sold, along with the top 20 selling games in Japan between June 23 and June 29, 2014, according to Media Create:
