Certain LBP2 Community Creators Were Asked to Help Make LittleBigPlanet 3

In an interview with GameSpot, Sony XDev Senior Producer Tom O’Connor revealed that they actually contacted some of the LittleBigPlanet 2 creators with job offers:

One of our favorites was the guy who made a first-person shooter in LBP 2. We reached out to him and a few others via the PSN and asked them to come to Sheffield in the UK and help us make LBP 3.

O’Connor continued by talking about how some community requested features, including the ability to create power-ups, will be implemented into LittleBigPlanet 3. He added, “Whenever we try out new features, it’s always with the community in mind. They get access to exactly the same tools that we use to make the game.”

If you’ve never played a LittleBigPlanet game before, O’Connor says LittleBigPlanet 3 is the easiest to get into, and it will feature interactive tutorials voiced by Stephen Fry.

Elsewhere, starting next month, developer Sumo Digital will be launching the LittleBigPlanet 3 Private Beta. Invites will be sent out to a “small number” of hand-picked community creators through the Private Message inbox over on LBP Central.

While LittleBigPlanet Community Manager Steven Isbell didn’t come out and say there would be a public beta between now and release in November on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, he did add, “We still have plenty of news to share with everyone between now and release! And we certainly won’t forget you all!”
