It turns out Amazon UK’s reporting was a little off, as MCV has confirmed that Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare pre-orders actually increased 385% during the week of gamescom. The original story has been updated to reflect this.

With gamescom having come and gone, Amazon UK looked through their pre-orders for the week of the event, revealing that Project CARS from Slightly Mad Studios saw an increase of 42.3%, while Rise of the Tomb Raider rose 30.25%, despite all that confusion over its exclusivity.
As for individual platforms, Wii U games saw the biggest overall increase at 8.67%, while PlayStation 4 were games up 5.16%, and Xbox One games rose just 2.81%.
Amazon VP of EU Retail Xavier Garambois spoke about the gamescom pre-order increases:
gamescom has become a landmark event for gamers around the world, attracting over 300,000 people to the show. The significant increase in interest in pre-orders highlight how developers and publishers have managed to excite our customers in the UK through this major gaming event.
Here’s the top 10 pre-order increases for games during the week of gamescom (August 10 – 17, 2014), according to Amazon UK:
- Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare – 385%
- Project CARS – 42.3%

- Bloodborne – 16.08%
- Hyrule Warriors – 11.77%
- Quantum Break – 10.77%
- Far Cry 4 – 9.53%
- Assassin’s Creed: Unity – 9.44%
- Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor – 9.03%
- Battlefield: Hardline – 8.81%
- Super Smash Bros (3DS) – 7.56%
