PlayStation Plus Subscribers in Japan Getting 250 PSP Titles for Free on PS Vita

Sony has announced that PlayStation Plus subscribers in Japan will be getting a whopping 250 PSP games for the PS Vita for free.

The free games are part of the UMD Passport program, a program in Japan that gives users discounted digital versions of PSP games that can be played on PS Vita.

However, starting on September 17, the entire catalog of some 250 games will be free for PlayStation Plus subscribers in Japan. The free games will include popular titles like Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, LocoRoco, and Gran Turismo.

Unfortunately, Sony never launched UMD Passport in the US, making it very unlikely that this deal will be hitting the US PlayStation Store. Instead, all we can do is shake our heads and sigh.
