Mortal Kombat X Receives a Features Video, Learn More About Living Towers & Faction War

Giving us a look at many of the features within Mortal Kombat X, Warner Bros and NetherRealm brought out a new video today, titled Next. In it, you’ll find an overview of the features, behind-the-scenes look at Faction Wars, and more.

For a bit more information about a couple of the modes, IGN and Eurogamer sat down with NetherRealm, talking about how Living Towers is an iteration of the tower challenges from the previous Mortal Kombat. Just as before, each tower battle includes a special mod that changes up the gameplay as you fight against the computer.

As for what’s different, Living Towers update as frequently as every few hours in Quick Tower, with Daily and Premier Towers lasting between a day and a week, offering up rewards once you clear them. Additionally, this mode is online only, which gives NetherRealm that ability to update them so quickly, and you can use any character in the roster.

Platform agnostic (meaning PlayStation, Xbox, and PC owners can play against each other), Faction War is an online mode where you choose from one of five factions, helping out its rank by completing daily faction challenges. Then, every person in the winning faction at the end of each week receives special benefits.

Mortal Kombat X launches worldwide on April 14 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.
