Helldivers Launches in March on PS4, PS3 & PS Vita, Complete With Cross-Play (Update)

Update (February 25):

Taking part in a Reddit AMA today, Arrowhead announced that Helldivers won’t be a part of the March 2015 PlayStation Plus free games:

I know there was a lot of hype for us being the PlayStation Plus title for March, but unfortunately that is not the case. I’m sure you will receive an equally awesome game, [though] I have a hard time seeing any other game being as awesome as Helldivers.

They later add that Helldivers will cost $19.99, complete with cross-buy, cross-play, cross-save, and cross-chat.

Expect the March 2015 PS+ freebies to be announced tomorrow, February 26.

Original Story (February 13):

Just a day after being told it would launch in Spring 2015, Sony and developer Arrowhead have confirmed that Helldivers will launch on March 3 in North America and March 4 in Europe for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita.

They were a little light on game details as part of this announcement, only saying that it includes cross-play on all three systems. Looking at previous information of Helldivers though, we know it also includes cross-saves, with the PS4 version running at 1080p/60fps.

Here’s the brief description for Helldivers:

Helldivers is a hardcore, co-operative, twin stick shooter from the creators of Magicka. As part of the elite unit called the Helldivers, players must work together to protect Super Earth and defeat the enemies of mankind in an intense intergalactic war.

No word was given on whether Helldivers includes cross-buy, so stay tuned for more details as we get closer to launch.

Are you excited for Helldivers next month?
