Sony has recently released the video above, giving us an inside look at a live recording session for one of Bloodborne‘s music tracks. The game’s score was performed by a 65 piece orchestra along with a 32 piece choir. Recorded in London at Abbey Road and Air Studios, the music conveys a sense of “overwhelming dread, beauty and despair.” SCE Music Director Chuck Doud said on PlayStation blog:
Our Music Team partnered with From Software and Japan Studio to make sure that Bloodborne had one of the most original, beautiful, and hair-raising scores you’ll hear in a video game. This was our first time working with From Software and the game director Miyazaki-san, and we were very fortunate to have the opportunity to help bring this music to life.
Do watch the video, especially if you enjoy video game music.
Bloodborne is schedule for release on March 24 for the PlayStation 4.
