Twitch has announced its own official community convention, TwitchCon, the first of which will take place between September 25 and 26 in San Francisco this year. More announcements have yet to come, but we’re told that the event will be an “interactive convention” for broadcasters and viewers to meet each other, play, and learn together.
Twitch CEO Emmett Shear said:
Twitch broadcasters have the most passionate fans, so we want to create an amazing experience where they can come together in person. TwitchCon will be an opportunity for the entire community – broadcasters, game developers, viewers, and us – to play and learn together.
Over 100 million community members watch and talk about games on Twitch every month, so we’re expecting to see tons of popular broadcasters and game developers joining in on the fun.
