According to data about Sony’s third quarter, Sony’s Game & Network Services division is making the company quite a bit of money.
The division, of which PlayStation is a part of, brought in a whopping 531.5bn yen, which is around $3.1 billion. The number far exceeds what any other division brought it, and it looks like PS4 sales are mostly responsible for that. A total of 6.4 million PS4 consoles were sold during the quarter, which ended on December 31, 2014.
These numbers are probably why Sony is working on a three-year plan that will boost camera and PS4 sales in an effort to increase their profits. Of course, the large figures assumedly have a lot to do with holiday sales, but even so, PS4 sales are doing wonderfully.
