Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty Comes to PS3 This Week, Includes Cross-Buy With PS4

Released on PlayStation 4 in July 2014, Oddworld Inhabitants has announced that Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty is coming to the PlayStation 3 this week on April 21 in North America and April 22 in Europe.

Priced at €19.99/£14.99, New ‘n’ Tasty includes cross-buy with PS4 and PlayStation Vita, though there’s no word on when the Vita version will arrive. However, if you downloaded New ‘n’ Tasty for free through PlayStation Plus, that doesn’t include cross-buy.

Based on Abe’s Oddysee, New ‘n Tasty “doesn’t use a single line of the original source code, there are no visual elements recycled, most all of the audio was redone from scratch, and even the cutscenes were completely re-built.” On top of that, “Everything is now in full 3D, with dynamic lighting, responsive AI, and ragdoll physics for added hilarity.”

As the team adds on their website, the PS3 version includes all the improvements (such as old-school controls) since the game launched on PS4:

Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty is a ground-up remake of the original Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee, re-creating the much-loved cinematic platform adventure from scratch with all new controls, amazing new graphics, reworked audio and secrets.

On PlayStation 3, Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty features the game great gameplay that wowed players and critics alike on PS4, with rich visuals and a whole loincloth full of improvements and tweaks since the PS4 launch of the game.

If you want even more Oddworld, a remade version of Abe’s Exoddus is in the works.
