Badland: Game of the Year Edition Launches This Month on PS4, PS3 & PS Vita

Made through a collaboration between developers Frogmind, Blitworks, and Frozenbyte, Badland: Game of the Year Edition is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, PC, and Xbox One on May 26 in North America and May 27 in Europe. For the PlayStation release, it includes three-way cross-buy and will be priced at $9.99 during launch, down from the base price of $11.99.

Announced earlier this year and previewed by us in March, Badland: Game of the Year Edition is based on Frogmind’s Badland, which has over 25 million players worldwide on tablets. A side-scrolling action adventure game with physics-based gameplay, you control a flying creature called Clony and try to survive each level.

For this console and PC version, you’ll find completely redesigned controls, offering full left/right/up/down control over the game’s characters. Along with rebuilt levels to support the new controls, Badland: Game of the Year Edition includes over 15 hours and 100 levels of single-player story content, 100 co-op levels, and 27 multiplayer deathmatch stages for up-to-four-person local multiplayer.

Co-Creator Johannes Vuorinen talked about the Game of the Year Edition:

Badland: Game of the Year Edition looks stunning in Full-HD with all its visual enhancements, and the multiplayer gameplay has been praised wherever we have shown it. The co-op mode works well even for players of different skill levels – as long as one player survives, he’ll be able to quickly resurrect the others back into the game. Badland: Game of the Year Edition delivers one of the best local multiplayer experiences on these new platforms.

Did you play Badland on tablet? What did you think of it?
