Originally expected to activate yesterday after being released last week, Destiny update 1.2.0 didn’t actually launch on time, with Bungie saying at the time, “Our patch schedule for House of Wolves has changed slightly. 1.2.0 will not deploy today. Please stand by for more information. Game on.”
Today, Bungie explained that a technical issue affecting how Destiny would launch for some people has caused them to hold off on publishing the new update:
I’ve spoken with the finest minds at Bungie about Update 1.2.0 just moments ago. They’re working to correct a late-breaking technical issue that would have impacted the way the game launches for a large portion of you. Progress is being made.
We’ll be sharing new details on the deployment schedule that leads to House of Wolves as soon as they become facts. At the very least, you’ll hear from me once a day about this. Hang in there, and thank you for your patience.
We’re six days away from House of Wolves on May 19, which will be accompanied by update 1.2.0.1. So, expect 1.2.0 to go live before then, with full patch notes available when it does.
