Last Monday, CD Projekt Red revealed that worldwide pre-orders of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC had topped 1 million units. In less than a week, the game rose by 500,000 pre-orders to top 1.5 million before its launch today.
With the surge likely helped out due to positive early reviews and new gameplay footage going out, CD Projekt Red CEO Adam Kicinski talked about the milestone with Polish site Money.pl (Google translated via Videogamer):
Just a week ago we announced that one million customers from around the globe who pre-order on Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. For the last seven days this result jumped to over 1.5 million. It is for us a historic achievement.
