When Assassin’s Creed Syndicate launches on October 23, it will include 10 PlayStation 4 exclusive Penny Dreadul-themed missions, known as The Dreadful Crimes:
In 19th-century London, a curious affection for thrilling mystery stories exploded across the city. These weekly pocket novels, dubbed Penny Dreadfuls, became massively popular among the working class population and focused on titillating sensationalized crimes.
The Dreadful Crimes Mission Pack will be available on day one for Syndicate, and it explores the roots of the gruesome fad by following a young connoisseur of detective stories named Artie, who teams up with Penny Dreadful journalist Henry Raymond.
Playing as either of the Frye twins, you’ll be able to use an enhanced version of Eagle Vision to uncover details and clues to rebuild crime scenes. Then, you choose whom to interrogate and accuse, but picking the wrong suspect will reduce your reward.
By completing the Dreadful Crimes Mission Pack, you’ll be given unique in-game items utilized by iconic detectives of the day.
As for those of you in Europe, Sony has announced a special 1TB Jet Black PS4 bundle (CUH-1216B), which comes with a physical copy of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate and a digital copy of Watch Dogs:
Sony didn’t give a price for the PS4, or say if it was coming to North America.
Don’t forget that Syndicate includes pre-order bonus DLC, and a Season Pass will be available.
