During a recent post-earnings call, EA CFO Blake Jorgensen announced that EA is expecting Star Wars Battlefront to ship 13 million copies this fiscal year, which ends on March 31, 2016.
Earlier this year, EA was expecting the game to ship around 9 million this fiscal year, although that number was increased to 13 million partially due to the massive amount of players who participated in the game’s recent beta test. Because of this, EA announced in their earnings report that their full-year revenue expectations have been raised by $50 million.
Also in the report, EA noted that it is the number one PlayStation 4 and Xbox One publisher in the west this calendar year.
EA is the #1 publisher on PlayStation®4 and Xbox One consoles in the Western World calendar year to date and for Q2 FY16, led by the strength of the EA SPORTS™ FIFA and Madden NFL franchises.
The company included an infograph in the report as well, which gives interesting information on how many matches have been played in FIFA 16, how many goals have been scored in NFL 16, and more.
Do you think Star Wars Battlefront will sell that many copies by the end of March 2016?
