Ronda Rousey to Stay EA Sports UFC 2 Cover Athlete, Despite Loss

Over the weekend, undefeated UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey was defeated by Holly Holm, less than two days after being named one of the cover athletes for EA Sports UFC 2.

Earlier today, an EA spokesperson confirmed to ESPN that Rousey will remain on the cover, alongside an as-of-yet unannounced male fighter.

Following the loss, Rousey wrote on Instagram:

I just wanted to thank everyone for the love and support. I appreciate the concerns about my health, but I’m fine. As I had mentioned before, I’m going to take a little bit of time, but I’ll be back.

UFC President Dana White wouldn’t confirm a rematch between Rousey and Holm just yet, saying instead, “We don’t make fights the night of the fight, but the rematch makes a lot of sense. The rematch is what the people want to see.”

On Sunday morning, EA’s Peter Moore tweeted:

EA Sports UFC 2 launches in spring 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Who do you want to see on the cover with Rousey?
