Released back in September for Xbox One and PC, The Escapists: The Walking Dead is coming to PlayStation 4 on February 16 in North America and Europe for £14.99.
Mixing together The Escapists and the world of The Walking Dead, The Escapists: The Walking Dead sees you playing as Rick Grimes, who is placed in charge of a group of survivors, including many characters from the comic book. It’s up to you to find a safe escape route from each area in the game (Meriwether County Correctional Facility, Woodbury, Alexandria, and more), all while managing dangerous tasks to keep as many people alive as possible.
“The game faithfully matches the timeline of the comics and so as the player makes progress in the game they play through locations that mirror the progress of the band of the survivors taken from the award-winning comic’s epic story,” the description adds.
Lead Designer Grant Towell explained that The Escapists: The Walking Dead goes all the way up to about issue 83, and you’ll find lots of crafting:
You’ll get to meet other familiar characters from the hit series along the way including Carl, Lori, Glenn, Hershel, Maggie, Dale, Tyreese, Michonne, Abraham, and Gabriel. As Rick, you must take care of your survivors by performing headcounts, and cleaning up the compound to avoid getting overrun with walkers.
Fans of The Escapists will be glad to know crafting is still a big part of the game. Choosing from over 250 materials, you’ll be able to craft more than 70 different items to keep your survivors safe including tools like cutters and shovels, and weapons such as the modified pistol and rifle.
As revealed by Exophase, there will be 20 Trophies to unlock, including a Platinum.
