In their latest financial report for the last nine months (ended December 31, 2015), Konami revealed that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain has shipped six million copies through retail and digital stores. This is up one million from the last report as of September 30.
“Continued favorable sales of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain with 6 million units shipped cumulatively incl. downloads,” Konami said in their Q3 highlights.
Digital Entertainment was the biggest segment for Konami, bringing in ¥93.4 billion ($772 million USD), with ¥25.5 billion ($211 million) in profit. This is a considerable jump from the same nine-month period last year, where Konami saw ¥67.9 billion in revenue and ¥10.7 billion in profit.
For the upcoming games listed in their report, the only non-arcade and non-iOS/Android titles are two Jikkyou games for PlayStation in Japan, and a Yu-Gi-Oh! game for 3DS worldwide. As we learned earlier this month, a new Yu-Gi-Oh! game is also coming to consoles this winter.
