PS3 Version of Amplitude Slated for April Release

First released on PlayStation 4 earlier this year, developer Harmonix has announced that the long-delayed PS3 version of Amplitude is now on course to hit Sony’s last-gen system in April.

News arrives by way of the game’s official Kickstarter page, confirming that the PS3 build of the rhythm title has been submitted to Sony for certification.

First up, PS3 version: It’s done! We’re submitting it to Sony certification today. The certification and release process takes a couple weeks, but you’ll be able to get your Sixaxis controllers all up in Amplitude’s business in April. We’re hoping for early April, but I’ll let you know when we have a confirmed date locked down.

In terms of the outstanding physical rewards, Harmonix notes that those perks “will be ready slightly after the PS3 version hits, given current estimates.” Those affected include the $200 tier for the vinyl soundtrack, which is estimated to begin shipping to backers by “mid- to late-April.” An Amplitude art book stands as the final digital reward (it’s from the $70 reward tier), with Harmonix primed to dispatch to backers later today.

Amplitude is currently available on PS4 and will make the jump to PS3 at some stage in April.
