Last month, Stardew Valley‘s creator said that he wants to bring the game over to consoles as soon as he can. Eric Barone, the lone man behind the successful PC title, has now revealed to MCV UK that he’s currently in talks for a console port and several companies have expressed their interest in helping him bring the game over. However, he “can’t discuss any of the porting stuff at this point.”
Published by Chucklefish Games, Stardew Valley has already sold over 830,000 copies but Barone admits that he still isn’t fully satisfied with his work.
I think it’s a good game, but I’m also the type of person who is never satisfied with their work. I’m always going to be thinking about how I could’ve done certain things better, or how I could still improve it. Also, I’ll never be able to experience the game as it’s actually intended to be played: without prior knowledge, discovering everything for the first time. So I’m not sure I’ll ever truly know how good the game is.
Sales side, Stardew Valley earned praise from critics across the board and also became Steam’s best-selling game during its first two weeks.
We’ll update our readers as soon as we have more info about a console port.
