With one day to go before the closed beta begins, EA and DICE have announced that Mirror’s Edge Catalyst has undergone another delay, and will now release on June 7 in North America and June 9 in Europe for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Design Director Erik Odeldahl explained that they’ve delayed Mirror’s Edge Catalyst to ensure the Social Play features work flawlessly at launch:
To support the Social Play features, we are using a brand new online technology. We also want to make sure we have the opportunity and time to address player feedback from the Closed Beta. That is why we will give ourselves a bit more time to perfect the game, with a new release date for Mirror’s Edge Catalyst of June 7th (NA) and June 9th (EU). We’re confident that these extra two weeks will make sure the game is as amazing as possible for you the players.
Thank you all for your continued support and excitement for Mirror’s Edge Catalyst. The return of Faith is imminent.
If you’re accepted into the closed beta, expect your code to arrive via email on April 22 or April 23. It runs until April 26 and lets you try out main missions, side missions, optional content, and the Social Play features.
