In the latest Resident Evil 20th anniversary developer interview, Resident Evil Revelations 2 Producer Michiteru Okabe and Director Yasuhiro Anpo talked about the future of the series.
As Anpo explained, he’d love to see both the numbered games and Revelations spin-off series continue:
I’ve worked on both the main series and this spin-off series and I think Revelations has its own unique fun and allows us to try new and experimental gameplay ideas that we couldn’t do in the numbered titles, which is great. I’d love to see both series continue. What do you think?
Okabe then replied:
Yeah, I would also love to be able to continue Revelations as a spin-off series. I think the best thing about it is being able to bring back less-used characters. And it also lets us explore stories in between the events of the main games. So if we can keep making games that focus on the fans I expect the fans would keep enjoying them too.
If Revelations does continue, Okabe said he’d like to strengthen the fan-oriented nature of the games, adding, “And if we kept Revelations going in the same horror style I think the players would be happy with that.”
Anpo and Okabe finished up the video by saying they’d keep working hard to make great Resident Evil games.
With Resident Evil 7 possibly being shown off at E3 2016, do you think Capcom should make Resident Evil Revelations 3?
