PlayStation Vita update 3.61, the first system software update since early April, is now available to download. According to the official patch note, the update improved system performance:

As users on Reddit have reported though, updating to version 3.61 means you’ll lose access to HENkaku, which is a recent exploit that gives users full access to the system, easily enabling homebrew games and applications.
In other system update news, Sony will begin the beta for PlayStation 4 update 4.00 very soon. Details on the update are expected in “early August,” so news should arrive this week.
