Owners of the European version of No Man’s Sky Limited Edition noticed something on the box that had them speculating about the game’s online play component and age rating.
Apparently, a sticker was used to conceal a small part of the original box, which shows an age rating of PEGI 12 instead of the current PEGI 7 and has an online play logo. You can check the images out below.
When contacted by several publications, Sony released a statement denying rumors of making any changes to the final game and said that the original print was a result of a “production error,” which was rectified by the sticker. Here’s what the company told Eurogamer:
Incorrect descriptors were incorporated into the original No Man’s Sky limited edition packaging. This was a production issue and was rectified using placement stickers.
In related news, Hello Games has said that it’s aware of issues that players are experiencing and is working on a patch. You can read more on that here.
