Stardust Galaxy Warriors: Stellar Climax Launches on September 9 for PS4 & Xbox One

A 1-4 player couch co-op arcade shooter, Stardust Galaxy Warriors: Stellar Climax from Dreamloop Games is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on September 9 for $9.99/€9.99.

The Definitive Edition of Stardust Galaxy Warriors, which released last year on Steam, Stellar Climax includes the new player character Amber Fox, improvements to boss and enemy features, a revised upgrade system, visual polish, performance improvements, bug fixes, and these three game modes: Campaign, Gauntlet (an endless high score run), and Challenge (face developer-designed challenges). There’s also New Game Plus, where your Campaign progress carries over to a more difficult mode with new boss features and more enemies.

Choosing from one of five unique mechs, each with their own super-weapon and special ability, you head through the 30 story stages in the Campaign, battling bosses and shootings things as you try to set a new high score. “Players are thrown into experimental mechs, and sent to investigate a deep space anomaly,” the description adds. “What they find will change their universe forever… Or something.”

Studio co-founder Steve Stewart said:

We’ve dreamed of launching on consoles since we first started this project so long ago. Console games are also probably a bit more likely to be played with friends, and that’s what we’ve been after for SGW since the beginning. Not a lot of players on PC are playing with four people on the couch, but on consoles it’s a bit different, and I’ve gotta’ say: I adore the way this looks on a 70-inch TV. This is the perfect arcade shooter for consoles.

Stellar Climax will be playable at PAX West.
